Hello All,

I am a US Permanent Resident and I have filed the I130 form for my wife (beneficiary) on 4th February 2013. Currently, my case has been shifted to the USCIS Nebraska Service Center and is pending approval there.

In the meantime, my wife, who is currently in India, has shifted from her old address to a new address.

To inform this change of address of the beneficiary, I can't use the online version or the paper version of the Form AR-11 which is only for US Aliens. In her case, she is yet to get any US Visa Status.

Did any of you ever face this kind of a situation before? I am thinking of writing directly to the Nebraska Service Center informing them about the change but I am not sure whether it's the right approach...if any of the Visajourney members have previously faced this situation before then I would really like to know how did you resolve this issue?

Really looking forward to your help on this guys....

Thanks a lot!

You can call or write USCIS to update your wife's address.

We had to update my brother's address by writing NVC since the case was already handled by NVC.

When writing for change of address you need to provide the USCIS #, name of the beneficiary and petitioner

and DOB of both petitioner and beneficiary . Once they received your letter and updated the address,

you will get a letter of confirmation in the mail.

Hope that helps.

In my opinion, you can make the change of address later when her case is already in NVC since the NOA2 will be mailed to your address in the US, not in India.

@Gaurav86.

I am in the same boat as you. I am the petitioner, and my spouse moved to another address within the country. I will update it during the NVC process. Anyway the petitioner will get the I130 approval notice. My I130 applications was just approved by USCIS and NVC acknowledged the receipt of the documents but not yet entered in their system. NVC won't be able to update anything unless it is in their system.

For peace of mind you can also call USCIS and ask about it.

Thanks a lot to you all for taking time out and replying to my post...I called up USCIS yesterday and as per my discussions with an Immigration officer, I sent a written letter to the Nebraska Service Center informing them about the changed address of my wife (beneficiary) against the I130 Receipt No. and also sent in the copies of my US Permanent Resident Card and NOA1 along with the letter...hopefully it will suffice...otherwise, as I understand from your posts, I can always update it in the NVC stage...

Hi,

sorry this is an old post but right now, our I-130 is at NSC and we moved (within the same country) so we called USCIS and they told us to write a letter and send it by post to

the address below:

850 S. Street

Lincoln, NE 685080-2521

Fax: (402) 219-6050

But we haven't heard anything back for over a week now and there is also no change on the online status so far.

We are wondering how long it took others for NSC/USCIS to take action on this.

btw, we ( both the petitioner and beneficiary) are living abroad so we are afraid that we won't be able to get the paper copy of NOA2 if this address change is not registered in time.

thanks in advance!
