I am the beneficiary.

My fiance is a cab driver who is self employed, what should he be submitting for affidavit of sponsor? W2? Employment letter or what not?

He has been making stable income of about $17k annually for about 4 years.

Do we need a co sponsor for that? If we do, does it need to be family/relatives?

K1 (I-129F) petition filed in August 2013 (Approved Feb 20th 2014)
13th May 2014: AOS (I-485) & EAD/AP combo card
21st May 2014: NOA 1 and biometric letter
11th June 2014: biometric appointment
13th June 2014: RFE received via mail
16th June 2014: replied to RFE
6th August 2014: EAD Approved, AP still in initial review
12th August 2014: got tracking number for EAD
( ) August 2014: Received EAD (I forgot what date I got them but I did receive them less than 5 days from the 12th)
10th September 2014: Interview Waiver received (I wished I was interviewed)
April 23, 2015, we registered your permanent resident status and mailed you a Welcome Notice

He does not get a W2 if he is self employed. He may get a 1099. But one way or another he has tax returns.

I must tell you though that $17k is a little light. A co-sponsor would be helpful here.

yes you need a cosponsor

can be family, friend or foe

anyone legal basically

also take a peak at your embassy specific threads.. some countries will not accept co sponsors

I believe the income he needs to reach is $19388, if it is only the two of you.

As self employed he can't really submit a employment letter?

He should be good with his taxes, that was what my husband sent in as self employed.

The co-sponsor doesnt have to be family or relative, a friend works just as well.

Medical exam in Stockholm April 13th
Interview on May 16th !!!

Income needs to meet or exceed the poverty guidelines of the I-864P http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-864p.pdf. If it doesn't you will need a co-sponsor. Other question is does your embassy accept co-sponsors with the K-1 visa? Some embassies can be difficult about this.

Not sure about K1 visa but they do allow co sponsor for spousal visa in Malaysia embassy, so little that is from Malaysia who are on K1 visa
