Help! Admittance of substance abuse in SLEC physician interview

Hi,

I'm just concerned about my husband's admittance to the physician panel in St. Luke's regarding his past usage of substance abuse. This happened almost 12 years ago during his college days. He was never an addict nor a drug trafficker. He merely did it for experimental usage. He was just honest in the interview. Now my dilemma is will he be denied? or worst banned? Please enlighten me and I beg for you to help me and my husband. We've been separated for so many years. What steps can I do in my end? His interview is coming up next week. Please help! Thanks.

If his last "use"/"intake" was 12 years ago, I don't think it will cause a problem.

My friend's 18 year old brother was denied by the consul because of marijuana use. His interview was June 2013, he admitted he last smoked February 2013. I think he got a 1 year ban, no waiver.

Thanks for your reply. I am just worried because I've been reading different posts and it's all negative and I'm afraid of what might happen on his interview next week. Should I seek help from an immigrant lawyer here or just wait after his interview? Thank you so much.
