We received our NOA1 for the i-130 back in March and have heard nothing since. We called today and they told us the status of our case is pending and processing times for NOA2 are 6 to 12 months as they have a big backlog and that it could increase. They are changing systems so our tracking number doesn't work as the system has not been updated. Are they just saying this to cover their backs or could it really take this long? Would it go any quicker if we hired a lawyer? When we started they said about 11 months from applying to getting the visa.

yip it is true

new facility opening soon

yip they are saying 8-12 months now

tracking is not reliable.. hasn't been for over a year

it will not go any faster with an attorney

some members have success with their elected officials, omnibudsman and all sorts of other entities that are out there to oversee uscis issues

it could also be the local office that you are being processed at.. several of those are buried... as in still working 2012 petitions
