waiting for interview letter :( any one can help ?

Dear all,

we sent our packet 3 to the embassy since 5-30-2013 still did not hear any thing from them till now it's more than 4 months till now, dose any one know how long we still have to wait ? dose anyone sent his packet 3 in May or June and got the interview letter ?

Call the Embassy and make sure they got your packet, and that the interview letter didn't get lost in the mail.

If you have your case number you can check your status online here:

(Choose immigrant visa in the drop down menu)

That may be helpful.

It could be that your embassy is really slow or that there was an issue with the mail service.

It took them over two months to call us for an interview and that was before all this delay and backlog.

Also, I spoke to a supervisor at the Department of State regarding my case about two weeks ago (before our approval) and I asked him if our case (that was in AP at the time) would be delayed by the instability in the country. He told me that our case was definitely affected because there is reduced staff in the US Embassy in Cairo due to the current situation.

I know that is not the news you wanted to hear but I hope it elevates some of the worry that your case may be lost/ignored/etc at the embassy.

thank you so much ... yes i have checked on this website after i sent my packet 3 and it says it's ready and i called them and they told me that they got my packet 3 4 months ago ... but still now news

I am sorry but how did u call them because i know that there line has been shut i am also sorry to tell you that my interview was on may 30th and i am In AP since that time and the embassy has my passport since then and i lost my pre college courses i have to tell you that if it is still in your hands to transfer your case to another embassy don't hesitate to do it. best of luck :D

Hello Omar, Don't be sorry man, maybe you late for a reason and for sure everything will be ok soon, i called them months ago before their phone lines be canceled :D , For the AP i think it's not fixed some ppl get their passport after few days or weeks and others in month or more, i read something here at the first of our journey " It's Luck Game " . wish best of luck to everyone include me :D
