I've followed some of your posts about wanting to change jobs. I'm a paralegal, too, and I'm itching to get a new job, so I know how you feel. You end up doing the bulk of the work while everyone else gets all of the money. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you. I hope you get it! Post back whenever you find out what's going on!

But the letter said they would be posting an announcement and applications need to made online. Meaning - it's YOUR job to watch for the announcements and if you really want to work for us it's up to you.

Oh....I really really appreciate all this support.

It's hard to say when I might hear something, if at all. They could just be establishing another register. Or they could be getting ready to hire. They could hire one, twelve or a hundred.

I'm 49 years old. I worked full time from the age of 16 until I was about 38, when I was able to stay home a few years to raise my son. I went back to work 5 years ago but only part time, and that was fine until my divorce. I've been trying to 're-enter' the work force in a full time capacity for about a year now. I might as well beat my head against a brick wall. It's very frustrating. I know I made the right choice to stay home with my son, but it seems my career is now at a standstill. But there's also a hell of a lot of other people out there looking for work too.

It's frustrating. I really could use a break.

Good luck RebeccaJo! They should give you a job for perserverance if nothing else!!! You do deserve a break and don't second-guess yourself on choices made in the past...you did what was right for you at the time and therei's not a thing wrong with that!!!!!!!

Lawdy, I would have been so nervous about power surges and PC BSOD too...thank goodness that didn't happen after all that work!
