Bringing child in outside of K1 entry

Hello there! I am a long time lurker, and have gotten some very valuable information from this website during my fiance (now wife)'s K1 process. Everything went smooth, and we were married on Aug 4th smile.png We have filed for her AOS, EAD, and AP, as of about 3 weeks ago, but we are looking for some information that may be helpful in the process of bringing her daughter here, from the Philippines.

A little background info: My wife had moved away from her daughter, in the Philippines, about 4 years ago, to work abroad and support her. She was living and working in Curacao when we met nearly 2 years ago. The daughter is currently living with her grandparents in Manila. We were unable to include the daughter on the K1, because of the vast distance between them (We did our visa through Caracas embassy). So, the K1 was done strictly in my wife's name. The goal now is to get her daughter here with us. What is the best way to do that? I see that there is a K4 visa, but I see that the USCIS website mentions eligibility is related to a parent who went through the K3 process, which we did not. I am not very well versed on any of this stuff, so any information would be helpful.

Some of my areas of concern:

---Can someone else bring the child to the embassy, without the need for my wife to travel?

---Is adoption a better option?

---The father has not played a role in the daughters life, but could that still be an issue?

---Time frame/cost?

Thanks!

Did you list the child on the paperwork for the K-1. You must list all children even if they are not immigrating.

Is the father's name on the birth certificate? If so I believe she needs some sort of legal paper to bring the child to the US.

You, as the step-father, can file for the daughter assuming you married her mother prior to the child turning 18. Follow the guides for the I-130. Timeline would be dependent on the age/marital status of the child

The child might be eligible for a CR-2 visa. If that's the case, then YOU (the USCitizen) files the I-130 today. or tomorrow.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
