Hi All,

We need your help. We emailed DS-3032 on thrusday 08/29/2013 and this morning we got the email from NVC to complete form DS-261. Do we have to fill this DS-261 form or simply ignore it as we have already emailed DS-3032 form. The email is like this:

Dear Principal Applicant:

Your immigrant visa petition is now eligible for further processing at the National Visa Center (NVC). You will need the

following identification numbers to carry out the next steps in the immigration process:

· Your NVC Case Number:XXXXXXXXXX

· Your Invoice ID Number: XXXXXXXXX

· Your Beneficiary ID Number:XXXXXXX

Keep this letter in a safe place. You will need these identification numbers again during the immigration process.

You must now establish communication with the NVC by completing the Form DS-261, online Choice of Address and

Agent Form, which allows you to register an agent and your agent's contact information with the NVC. Your agent is a

person you choose to receive communications from the NVC on your behalf. You may act as your own agent, or you may

choose your petitioner, a family member, a friend, an attorney, an immigrant assistance professional, or any other person you

trust to represent you.

Please let us know how to move forward.

Thank you

You will need your Beneficiary ID number from the NVC to do it however. At this point that means you will also need to complete the DS-260 online vs the DS-230. The bad part about the DS-260 is that they ask for the EXACT addresses you've ever lived since age 16. The good parts are; some other parts like education history, work history aren't needed, and only the last 5 visits to the USA are required.

Maybe for the form DS-260, but not for DS-261. The information which was asked was just as it was asked on DS-3032.

When I did it, I needed the BIN. They may have changed it.

Thank you very much for your information, we really appreciate it. I told my wife to fill DS-261 online, but she can't go to the website since the internet speed is really slow from past few days in back home. Is it okay if I fill DS-261 by myself on her behalf? Do they care from which part of the world was it filled?

Thanks

electronic processing and online forms are two different things.

Online forms look like they are required everywhere now. We'll have to update guides for people!
