Probably this would be of help to those people who is of the same situation: same sex k1 visa filer with one partner currently a Philippine Citizen.

Share your status guys. Updates & suggestion would really be helpful since this is the first year that this visa will be available to us.

>> My partner filed my petition this month through an immigration lawyer as we do not want to make mistakes and also we do not want to risk it for ourselves. We are waiting for our NOA2 which hopefully we can get early next month hopefully :-)

Good luck to all of us...!

You filed the petition this month and you think you will get it approved early next month? I think you should refactor your expectations so you don't get disappointed.

Good luck.

petition filed 10/02, ALIEN REG NUMBER chaged 10/04, NOA1 received shortly after, RFE RECEIVED 11/06, i responded to an RFE from CSC in a timely fashion ... CSC confirmed receiving the documentation requeste on 11/08. USCIS website updates my Case Status to "REQUEST FOR EVIDENCE RESPONSE REVIEW". Today I received a text/email from CSC re: Case Status Update stating that Alien Reg Number has been changed...or the 2nd time??? Upon checking USCIS website for case status it went back to INITIAL REVIEW!!!!

my question is, is this odd or does this ever happen? isn't the process supposed to be progressive so why would my case go back to INITIAL REVIEW after a month or so of submitting the petition?

please can someone shed a light on this issue???

I share the same exact sentiments!

During my interview, there was a same sex couple there too. The beneficiary was very scared of discrimination, and he was surprised that at the end of the day, nobody was mean to him at all. He was very relieved that everyone was treated the same. Don't worry. The COs are very fair and nice people.
