hi vj's i just registered in this very helpfull forum..

i am now in the stage of waiting for the packet from usem manila..i have some questions that i really need to know..

i have this smokers cough but it has no phlegm at all..i am afraid that i have to take the sputum test..my question is..lets say my interview date is septembe 25 then i went to st lukes for my medical exam on september 15 then they let me take the sputum exam and i have to wait for 2months for the result..should i still go for my interview or resched it??

lets say i rescheduled my appointment for my interview 2months after the sputum exam and they found that i have tb and i have to go through 6months medication..should i reschedule again?

and the problem is our k1 application will expire this comming november 30 as mentioned in our noa1..will they extend the expiration date considering that i have to go through 6months medication??

i really doubt that i have tb coz last february 27 i went through an operation which needs me to have a chest xray and it was normal..

a reply will be greatly appreciated..thanks =)

i believe you would call USCIS for an extension. not really sure. I also think exactly the same for my upcoming medical exam.. bring chest xray films as basis/reference as well in the future exam.

If during the medical you need to do the sputum for 2 months you will need to reschedule your interview. If that happens simple log onto your account on the embassy website to cancel your September interview, then wait until you get the results from the test before rescheduling again. You are allowed to reschedule twice without paying another visa fee.

If you need an extension of the visa petition simply call the embassy they will extend the validity of the petition for another 4 month without any issue (up to a year). Info in my link below for contacting the embassy ++ .

Nope, the extension of the visa petition is done by the embassy. USCIS is out of the picture at this time. You can bring previous x-rays, SLEC will still do theirs.

The embassy will automatically extend your application long as you still intend to marry or still free to do so. Mine was extended. Good luck!
