Packet sent to NVC on 8/16, is it too early to start collecting documents?

Hi everyone-

I apologize if this has already been answered a million times, there's a ton of info on this site and it's hard to sort through it all!

Our approved packet was transferred to NVC on 8/16, that's the last notification that I got. I am going to visit my fiancee next weekend and I was really hoping to get a lot of what we need taken care of while I'm there, like the police letter, the passport photos, and the fees that need to be paid at Banco Popular. This will be my last visit before the interview so I want to do what we can while we're together but I know some things can't be done too early or without him having received his packet.

I've already put together all the forms and have them in a binder that I'm bringing to him so he's ready to go. I will update the forms with the financial info and bring the updated copies with me for the interview since pay stubs and savings amounts will change before the interview.

Any info would be great! Thank you! smile.png

well everything needs to be done here on your part collecting your financial papers. the last thing you should get 30 days before the interview is your work letter, latest paystubs, and bank letter. on his part he could take care of the passport photos, getting his passport. also filling out the papers online and taking them with you the day of the interview.

he should not get the police letter until a week before the interview, that's something you get in 20 min, also the fee that needs to be paid should be done just a couple of days before the interview. you cannot do this in advance.

hope this helps.

There is some great information located at this website. http://visaconnection-philippines.com/#

If you have the MNL # from NVC then you can get started NOW with getting your documents together and scheduling your appointment and doing your CFO and Medical. Just follow the steps contained in the link.

The OP is not going through Manila, so they will not have a case # that starts with MNL, nor have a CFO. They should not follow the process for the Philippines when they are going through the Dominican Republic.
