Hello All!

Could please tell me,

after the entrance to USA via CR-1 visa, how fast the green card and SSN will be mailed? Is it possible to travel in/out USA without GC? Or travel possibility is available only after receiving the GC?

thanks

After PoE your green card should arrive within 30 - 60 days.

Your immigrant visa is endorsed by CBP upon your initial entry, and serves as a temporary green card for up to one year, so you can travel using that if you wish until your green card arrives.

Although there is also a $165 fee that you have to pay before you get your GC, look here: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=3a2bb75e8109b310VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD&vgnextchannel=fe529c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD

Until you have paid this fee you will not receive your GC. And concerning the SSN, you may need to go to a local office to receive that. If you do not receive a SSN within 15 days I would got to a SSN office and apply for one.
