Any examples of a notarized letter to bring to the embassy?

I can get them from my family members, but my foreign spouse can NOT because her family doesn't know she is marrying a woman.

(Same sex relationship.)

Are notarized letters required?

Will it be a problem that her family doesn't know about our relationship?

We intend on telling them, but once she is here in the USA because we are unsure how they will react...

There is nothing needed to be Notorized The thing is being able to show you are both Free to Marry. I admit I'm confused by the New Law. But, I think your OK. As far as Family, you don't need their Consent but that would be nice.

I see some people here bring letters notarized by family stating they are aware of the engagement, and such.

I didn't know if that was a requirement.

Curious to see if anyone has or has not brought letters to the embassy that were written by family members just stating they were aware of the ongoing relationship.

Thanks for the quick response!

Not a requirement for family affidavits, but it is generally helpful for the family to not only know about the relationship, but be supportive. It will depend on what questions are asked by the CO at the interview, what relationship evidence is presented and whether or not the CO feels there is a genuine relationship/engagement..
