That's not entirely true. For many it can be done in 6-8 months depending on how aggressive you are. I have been watching many of the timelines here and I see some 6 months other's are later. It all depends on the couple and how aggressive they are in getting their paperwork correct the first time with no RFE's, that the USICS is working on a decent timeline and they are available for many of the open interview appointment dates.

We started ours in March so it has been 5 months and our case is on its way to the USEM. So we could schedule to have our interview in about 3-4 weeks which would bring us up to about 6 months give or take a few days. Then approx. 2 weeks have the visa in hand and then onto the airport to leave. It just depends again on our aggressive you want the process.

If you don't want to rush things then yes, a year can be ok.

Yup it can get done very quickly once the petition is approved with USCIS.

Petition process on average is 5 - 6 months, even though lately I have seen some get done in 3 - 4 months... that got a WoW! out of me.

After getting the MNL # from NVC the rest can be done and the interview completed in just a few weeks.
