case mistakenly sent to NRC instead of NVC. How long to get back to VT?

Hi,

My case was approved on 06/24/13. Unfortunately, USCIS VT sent it to NRC instead of NVC. I found this out last week after a very cumbersome search for help. Now, USCIS VT has requested it back from NRC. Does anyone have experience with this? How long will it take to get back to VT?

I really appreciate any help.

Yup. Same thing happened to me only difference was mine center was csc. Expect it to be back within a week after the letter date. Then you'll have to wait a couple of days for them to mail it. Email cisombudsman@HQ.DHS.GOV, but their response might come back late. They gave me the correct date my partition was actually mailed out. It was on a Saturday and NVC started processing on wed.

It sucks when this happens but this is a great thing they found it. Just know this, the process will actually speed up from this point further ( barring any other screw ups). I got help from my elected official with this so if you did the same keep on calling them to find out updates. They get information you and I can only dream of with those script reading computer monkies they have answering the phone calls at uscis.

How did you know your case was transferred to NRC instead of NVC? Also, what is NRC? Top google hits are National Resource Council, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Nigerian Railway Corporation - none of which have anything to do with immigration at any phase.

i made an infopass appt at dept homeland security and they told me. NRC is national records center
