I will be soon applying for a petition for my parents to be able to come over here in US. And I have created the guide below for my reference which hopefully could help fellow applicants who just applied or soon be applying IR-5 for their parents. Also, I hope to get suggestions from those who've been through the process.

PETITION/VISA PROCESS:

1. 1. File a petition – Fee $420/petition ($840 total)
2. Mother
   • Form I-130
   • My birth certificate (copy)
   • My Certificate of Naturalization (copy)
   • My marriage certificate (copy)
   • Check for $420 payable to: U.S. Department of Homeland Security
   • Form G-1145, E-Notification
3. Father
   • Form I-130
   • My birth certificate (copy)
   • My certificate of naturalization (copy)
   • Parent’s Marriage Certificate (copy)
   • My marriage certificate (copy)
   • Check for $420 payable to: U.S. Department of Homeland Security
   • Form G-1145, E-Notification
4. Submit above-listed documents to USCIS Phoenix Lockbox:

1. 2. Choice of Agent – Submit DS-3032 via EMAIL once Case/CIS numbers are available.
2. Send parents Form DS-230 to sign and return with Civil documents

1. 3. Fee & Document Collection
2. Make payments at Immigrant Visa Invoice Payment Center
3. Affidavit of Support fee - $88 for both
4. Send documents (Separate file but one mailing):
   • Affidavit of Support for main sponsor (me)
     • Form I-864
     • Letter of employment
     • Paystubs (6 months)
   • Affidavit of Support for co-sponsor (husband)
     • Form I-864A
     • Letter of Employment
     • Paystubs (6 months)
   • Joint tax return transcripts (3 years)
5. Mail documents to:
   • National Visa Center
     Attn: DR
     31 Rochester Ave. Suite 100
     Portsmouth, NH 03801-2914
6. Immigrant Visa Processing fee - $230/applicant ($460 total)
7. Send documents (both parents – but send separately)
   • Form DS-230 (Send parents FORM for them to sign and return with below documents)
   • Original NSO birth certificate
   • Original NSO marriage certificate (1 for each)
   • Copy of biographic page of PASSPORT
   • 2X2 photos (2 for each)
   • Original NBI Clearance
   • Original Police Clearance
8. Mail documents to:
   • National Visa Center

1. 4. Medical Exam - Fee $223.35/applicant ($446.70 total) – paid in Pesos in current Exchange rate
2. Fly to Manila
   • Fare/flight

   • Appointment letter from NVC or email confirmation from Visa Information & Appointment Service (original and 2 photocopies)
   • Passport
   • 2x2 Photos (4 each)

Any fee that my mom needs to pay before interview, like interview fee /visa processing fee? I have paid all fees that are required while petitioning for her!.

1) is the below the same?

• Original Police Clearance

2) In Cambodia it will take a month or so to have NBI clearance and about a month to mail and get it here in US. What is a good time to have my parents do there NIB? how long does it valid?

3) Medical exam: As a partitioner, do i need orginal of my parents medical exam to mail to NVC along with these

• Form DS-230 (Send parents FORM for them to sign and return with below documents)
• Original NSO birth certificate
• Original NSO marriage certificate (1 for each)
• Copy of biographic page of PASSPORT
• 2X2 photos (2 for each)
• Original NBI Clearance
• Original Police Clearance

Is still allowed for advance medical at st. luke? after the AOS and the DS-230 paid?

because way back 2009 when my hubby petition me as a spousal visa, they allowed to have a advance medical.

St. Lukes hospital will not entertained the beneficiaries if they do not have a visa appointment letter from nvc and or printed copy of email from nvc...

I have a friend just finished her advanced medical st. luke.. they allowed her without appointment letter, just bring this following.

1.Letter from NVC that you have of MNL case

3. Printed copy that paid the AOS

4. NOA2

Goodie, we make all the fees for them other than the Medical Exam. Taked note of the payment before they fly out cos that's a new one. Good luck!

In the Philippines, they're different. Police Clearance is a City Criminal Record while NBI is the Country's.

As far as I've seen, the petition's timeframe is between 2-3 months. So for me, I'll have them get the it as soon as you send the petition.

Check your country's US embassy's visa application, as it may be a different process with regards to how the Medical Exam result is being sent. In the Philippines, the clinic will forward the applicant's results to NVC before the interview.
