I hate putting the tree together (both putting up and taking down), but I love decorating it and decorating the house with random other things.

I love putting up lights outside but hate taking them down. I'm really into the design aspect of it, and I like to go really detailed. Anyone can throw up a string of icicle lights and call it done-- I like to go over the top... tastefully. I was really, really proud of the light display we did one year-- our house looked amazing compared to everyone else on the street, if I may say so myself, but it just took way too much effort so no one wants to help me do it again.

This year we're doing neither due to lack of time and room to really do so, but I got a little bit of it out of my system because I spent part of the day decorating my mother's ex-husband's restaurant.

We put ours up Saturday and then decorated it that night. All was fine until about 4:30pm Sunday when I heard a crash. I went into the living room and there it was, completely fallen over, stand and all. Hubs was fuming but we managed to get it back up and I re-did it all while he still fumed and only 1 decoration broke. I like decorating it so I didn't mind having to do it twice, I cranked up the Christmas Carols and had it done in less than an hour.

This time, we tied it to the window and wall with fishing line.

I hate untangling the lights if they are left over from last year. Also once you wrap the lights around the tree with lights and ornaments and it's finally nicely decorated the lights go out because of a fuse or because they are old. You have to remove all the ornaments again and start from the beginning with a brand new pair of lights! Wrapping lights around the tree is not as easy as it seems either.

That is why you put the lights up before the ornaments :yes::thumbs:

it is like a dog chasing it's tail :lol:

find that one bulb that is bad
