Hi everyone i had a question for all of you. have anyone here get denyed a visa because they didnt make enough on the affadavit of support? heres my situation, i have met my girl in 2009. i have been back and forth for the past 3 years. i had a job but only been back and forth from it also. i make 14.50 an hour. i can have my boss sign me a paper saying that i have a good stable job and im a hard, reliable worker. in 2012 i was in the philippines thats why i couldnt file for tax. i started my job back agian this year in 2013. please anyone post some good news for me. i have had lots of restless nights. i hear that also manila embassy dosent take co sponsors. my dad jus retired, but he put most of his annuity into our home. our homes equity is worth $700,000+ usd and this is the home where me and my fiancee will stay. since my dad put most of his equity in this house, his retirement paychecks arnt that much. my mom also works, she has steady work. anyone please break me good news. thanks cray5ol.gif

If you are working 40 hrs/week at $14.50 per hour your income meets the requirements of the poverty guidelines for two people. I would suggest writing a letter explaining why you didn't file a tax return in 2012 - as you were in the Phils that year. And for sure you need a letter from your employer along with current pay stubs to show your income now that you are back in the States.

The short answer, yes, they can deny you for lack of sufficient funds or because there is a risk your wife/fiancé may become a public charge
