Hehehe, so get a smaller dog that jumps up! Anyway, I like the bigger dogs as well -Rhodesian Ridgebacks are my current big dog favourite:-) and Siberians -although they are a medium dog. I have a friend who has 2 Irish Wolfhounds - along with two Shelties and a tame skunk! and my husband used to breed Great Danes. Having a houseful of 5 cats is enough for me though - I love my cats. Padme is a good name, btw.

a smaller dog would be a disaster. we have two cats, one of which is a maine ####### and he thinks a 70 pound dog is a chew toy anyways.........

Just stay away from naming your dog anything that you would possibly name your children. I know a family that has a Jake-dog and a Jake-boy.

We took George and Bruno to Pet Smart obedience class. It really depends on the instructor and how dilligent you're going to be in keeping up with what you learn. You can't just go to class once a week and then not do any follow up at home and expect the dog to be obedient. We had a wonderful teacher, and George and Bruno are incredibly smart, they still know everything they learned, except "don't beat up that wee dog George!" We think George may be a bit brain damaged from parvo she had when she was a pup.

He is just drop down dead gorgeous, I just love rotties I have two, Morgan is our male and Tia is the female, we are bringing both of them to the states with us. I have no pics I can put on because I am at work, but will try to put some on later

Big dogs are great because if they're gentle-tempered, nothing, and I mean nothing, spooks them. Most dogs only bite if spooked, and there's several large breeds of dog I'd trust around children over little yappy animated dust mops.

(I grew up with Great Pyrenees.)

I'd give the dog a name that you'd like to use on a child, but that you know would result in your child getting beat up on the playground. A dog is a good place to get the Raven Skylar Cornelius out of your system.

My Great Dane puppy was born last week actually lol.

Bit of a dillemma, the dog we wanted might be deaf, so right now we're holding on to two of them; if the female isn't deaf, we will take her. If she is, we take a little male. I'm good with dogs, but I don't think I have the experience to train a deaf dog unfortunately

So name wise, if it's a:

Female = Cheza

Male = Yasha

Little Oz was sold on Saturday, he was 10 months old. I miss him His new owner is a real nice bloke and has another dog for Oz to play with tho'.....All Black Labs, they are cool dogs

i have a gorgeous doberman called jinx... my daughter picked his name as everytime we where gonna go pick him up from the breeder something went wrong!
