My Mother-In-Law is visiting us on one of the "new" 3-year B1/B2 Multi-Entry Visa's. In her Visa, her entry stamp says this trip may be for 6 months. Mom is from Russia.

My wife has decided she want's to take a trip to Cancun near the end of Mom's 5 month visit. According to Mexico, Mom can enter Mexico no problem.

The question we don't have an answer for is - will mom encounter any problems "returning" to the USA after our Mexican trip? I can't imagine "why" she'd have any problems, but am curious if anyone has any experience here.

No, probably not. Going to Mexico doesn't even really count as a departure for the US side. How long will her total trip be on the continent? It should be less than 6 months, because they will count the mexican time as a part of that.
