AOS update before EAD

Hi everyone! So here's my case...I applied my AOS/EAD last May 28th, had my biometrics June 27th. Last night I got an email from uscis regarding my status update with my AOS. So then when I checked it, it was now on testing and interview which indicates that it's now ready for scheduling and that they will send me a notice of the details. I felt so lucky and blessed! I believe that when you have your GC, EAD is of no use. Now my questions are:

* Does it happen that AOS gets approved first and GC comes first before EAD?

* Is that normal and will I still have my EAD approval?

Thanks to your responses! Have a great day!!!

Yes, it's possible.

* Is that normal and will I still have my EAD approval?

If your GC gets approved, then the EAD will be irrelevant. The GC will supersede all the functionality of EAD/AP. It might be denied, it might not; but even if you receive it, the EAD card will be void anyway.

It certainly can occur. The AOS is a related, but independent process than the EAD or AP.

The EAD/AP processes seem to be basically stop-gap measures before the AOS processing, and hopefully GC issuance. Which may be a good thing when looking at some of the current prolonged AOS processing times.

Good luck.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
