Your I-130 is likely to be adjudicated at the USCIS field office closest to you. If that office is known for taking a long time before a decision is made (e.g. Atlanta), then it may be worth your while. On the flip side, if the office has average to quick times to make a decision, then don't bother with the K3.

Start a thread in the Progress Reports forum with the name of your field office and ask others if they have had a case go through that particular field office.

The 800 number is often referred to as the "misinformation" line for a reason; it seems some of the call takers don't even know the agency's own announcements. There was a big announcement by USCIS themselves last year that local offices were going to start adjudicated I-130 petitions to relieve pressure at the big service centers. A file is initially routed to the National Benefits Center from the lockbox before being routed to a field office. Now with that being said, some files do remain at the NBC and are adjudicated there, but it's not a majority.

MSC = NBC. It's the old name of NBC.

I'm the beneficiary.

Want to know what's happening with your case? Here's the USCIS tracking page (get an account and see if the case's been 'touched'!). Don't get your hopes up though, some cases never even appear there despite being successfully processed.

http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1 - if you look into the contents of this resource you will find a lot of helpful information in Guides and Wiki form. It might be easier than asking questions like the ones about documents one by one (some of them may be answered there).

For NBC - some cases are processed there, some are sent to field offices (as you've been told in previous posts). From what i've read here, the majority of cases when the petitioner is in the US are processed in the field offices (NBC sends them there eventually).

I'm the beneficiary.

Gosh I hope you didn't do that separately. The g325A and your passport pics and birth certificate and marriage certificate and your evidence of bonafide relationship is all to be sent with the I-130 Petition

Since August 12, 2012 ALL I-130 petitions went to Summit, Missouri the NBC. Some very few stay. Some sit there for months but the majority get routed to the local USCIS field office closest to the petitioners city.

G325a is sent with i-130, originals (marriage certificate, etc.) are sent to NVC later on when petition is approved. Could you have confused it with OF-230?
