translating Intent to marry letter

I am the petitioner and received and RFE for missing that letter which my lawyer never asked for, my question is, can I translate that letter myself? What wording I need to ad to let them know I am competent to translate??

This is incorrect. Translations do not have to be done by a third party or notarized. They only need the person to be fluent in both languages and put a 'certification' on the translated document. > http://www.visajourney.com/content/translations

also If you have lawyer you should make them do it, well at least they did all that for me, and after you get an answer stay on top of them or do everything yourself because I left everything to my lawyer and everybody that apply the same time as me have their spouse here in the US just saying lol, I fired my lawyer and started doing everything myself and things are moving pretty good

I think the post above was suggesting rather than translating something, you just send a new original letter of intent in English, signed by your fiancé.

You said the more official the better. You told the OP they will want to get it done by a third party, no matter how you say you worded it. There is no reason to pay to get it translated or to notarize it to 'make it look more official'. If anyone had their translations 'kicked back', then perhaps it was because the document was not properly translated and/or did not have the proper certification on it. I have seen plenty more people have their translations completed by themselves, family member or a friend using the certification accepted without any problems.

There is no need for a translation in this case anyway. The letter of intent should be in English.

Yes, but this is not for Juarez. This is for the I-129F petition, and it is still the case. The consulate is not the USCIS. Things at the consulate do not need to be translated if they are in English OR the native language of the country. So, anything in Spanish there is fine.

OH! I thought they meant the paper they need to bring to the interview with the original signature! I heard that had to be in English or the native language, and some people had to get it translated (and certified) depending on how ####### the embassy/consulate is.
