Mumbai Consulate, Interview --> Visa time?

Hi Everyone,

We just found out that my fiancee has an interview scheduled in August. This was later than we expected and is starting to come up against our plans in the US (venues, reception, etc.).

However, while the schedule will be tight, it is not impossible - depending on how long the visa takes to arrive / be issued following the interview.

So, with that in mind, does anyone know (or have experience with) how long it takes for the visa to be issued and arrive following the interview? Their website states that they use a courier service but the online site (ustraveldocs.com/in) states that it is a pickup from a location in Mumbai. Which one is it (delivery or pickup)?

This all depends on if you want your passport to be shipped or picked up. Pick-up is only in Mumbai, so if you are local that is great, but if you live outside of Mumbai, your best bet is to have it shipped. US Embassy uses Blue Dart to ship your passport once the visa is issues and it takes about a week. For pick-up its three days. So its pretty much your choice and you have to let them know online by registering at US Travel Docs. Hope this helps.
