Hi all,

Well just as we thought our nightmare was over....... ahhhhh well you all know how that goes. ((((((((((((( My fiance visa is in AP now. They didn't clearly explained why this was the case and didn't ask for any additional documentation. She was given a paper with check mark next to "marriage/divorce cert" (she never married) I was married before to a non US citizen, I provided divorce cert with my petition (didn't marriage cert). When she asked what else is needed she was told nothing. The embassy kept her passport.

What do I do now, please, if you have any info share it :)

Thanks

If they kept the passport, then that is a good sign. Everyone goes through a little more AP....unless there is something very different in her past?

I'd email them about that paper with the checkmark. That is strange.

As long as they have the passport everything should be ok. However time is of no concern to the powers that be.

LOL... 110% positive. She would not lie to me!

Anything else in the past? Previous visa attempts? Secret military service? Criminal history?

Other family member with something weird?

Have you emailed the Embassy?

My fiancee had her interview on April 19th in Kiev and we were also put in AP. We are still waiting for it to be resolved. She was given the same paper but with no check marks for additional documentation. About a month after the interview, she received a call from the Embassy asking for our email correspondence for a certain time frame which we sent over but haven't heard anything since. We're currently a little more than 2 months in AP now and our original I-129F will expire next week. If you have your KEV number here is a website where you can go to check the status.

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?

I have called the DOS and the Embassy and the most information I've received has been "You are in Administrative Processing and you will need to wait"

I wish you the best of luck.

our original I-129F will expire next week. I

Wrong. The 797 notice form is multiple use and that date is meaningless for the K-1 process. As long as the Embassy has the case, it is open, automatically. Do not fret about this as it means nothing.

The visa is the beginning, not the end. Your nightmare begins when the visa is issued. You have another 4-5 years of doing this until the nightmare is over. AOS, RoC and citizenship is each a process more difficult and can be fraught with just as many troubles and inconveniences. The time to start reading about those is now in the appropriate forums

As for the other...you wait. If they need anything they will tell you. They will not give any information about AP to anyone, not even a Senator or Representative.

The fact they kept the passport is usually a good thing. It means at this time they do not espect a long delay. It is no guarantee because they could always return the passport without the visa, but having kept it is an initial "good sign" for now

Good luck
