Finally Approved After Complaining

Finally got approved for my Green Card. I am so excited! smile.png But it was kind of weird how it happened. I phoned the central number last month to see what was happening and they said that they hadn't yet reached the limit of their processing times, but they would in June.

So I called them last Friday and they agreed that they were now past the processing time and so would raise an inquiry with the Rhode Island office. Monday morning I had an email from the Rhode Island saying I was approved! That's it. No interview, no waiting, no going past Go and collecting 200.

Therefore if you are still waiting and you believe you're past the processing time, I definitely recommend calling them.

Schedule:

August 2012: Arrived from the UK on K-1

September 2012: Got married

October 2012: Applied for AOS

November 2012: Biometrics

June 2013: AOS Approved

Complaining is the wrong word really. Inquiring is probably a better word. I was shocked when I got the email on Monday. What I was expecting to hear was that it was being looked at and I would hear something at some unspecified time in the future.

I'm sorry yours has taken so long and hopefully it will come through soon.

It isn't an issue for us, we knew it would take a while. Congrats to you once again.

Thank you for the post it helped us too. Spoke to a tier 2 representative on Thursday 20 June, 2013 and she said our case is now at the local office and has passed the processing time. She put in a service request, we made an info pass appointment for 3 July, 2013 but lo and behold, the approval email came today just 4days after. good luck to everyone waiting for approval
