CLYDE, N.Y. (AP) — A man who says he caught four boys vandalizing his father-in-law's home has been charged with child endangerment after corralling them in a closet until police arrived.

Jesse Daniels was arraigned on four counts of endangering the welfare of a child after authorities say he interrupted the vandalism at the empty home in the Wayne County village of Clyde, midway between Rochester and Syracuse.

They only did 40K worth of damage and he could have damaged their self esteem. America is getting more bat shat crazy every day. Only a real idiot could think he did anything wrong.. Of course some pinko tree huger parent will probally swear Little JOhnny did nothing wrong. Kids will be in Prison one day and some ** will be blaming it on lack of funding for education.

The guy knew the kids. He knew where they lived. Could have called the cops and let them deal with it.

They are lucky it wasn't Texas or they would been locked in the closet before shooting them.

I teach my kid. All the kids my daughter plays with are taught by their parents as well. I take it not all parents do that but I would suggest that the majority of parents do teach their kids right from wrong. It appears that the father of two of the kids involved in the story will have a word or two with his kids as well. Sounded to me that he acknowledged what the kids did was wrong and that they should be punished for it. Let us not pretend that all parents neglect their parental duties. It's not that bad.

You might be teaching your kids what is right and wrong but as this case shows sometimes we as American society we go overboard on certain things.

You know nowhere in the world would a coffee drinker be able to sue a company saying the cup did not say the content is hot.

Whichever authority decided to file a child endangerment against the home owner did not think for a while hmmm… maybe parents should be charged too for not watching the kids.
