reminds me of the bill hicks bit..where he talks about how mortified jesus will be if he comes back and sees half the world wearing symbols of his suffering and death around their necks. haha.

+1 for you and anyone else that references Bill Hicks.

Correct. This is the central event in a Catholic mass. Combined with the doctrine of transubstantiation, Catholics believe they are actually consuming the corporeal essence of the Savior.

So my family is traditional Catholic and we were discussing transubstantiation. FTR, I'm an atheist at this point but my parents are still practicing Catholics. My dad mentioned he didn't really believe in the direct concept of transubstantiation. To which I replied, then you're not Catholic.

to heck with opinions here at VJ - go ask yer priest what to do !

[in response to the question back at post #1]

Catholics are supposed to follow the guidance from their priest.

That's it, that's all - anything else written in this topic? Congratulations - you've been 'pulled in' by a troll, way back at post #1

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Who cares? Some of Stephen's loony threads turn into the longest. At least Smiley doesn't ask to close the thread if the discussion doesn't stay on track.

Yes burn your cross, preferably on someones lawn.

That might just work here in NJ since the KKK isn't active - I think. The thing is I don't own crosses anymore.

OMG! Hasn't Jesus suffered enough?

I wonder if "Mrs. Carrot" knows. Most Filipinos would be reluctant to tempt fate like that.

That was before I met her. Some of her family are devoted Catholics but she is not like that

It's getting changed to "Guns and Zimmerman" during the next upgrade.
