We will be filling AOS from VWP in the next month. I am the sponsor but I am considering filing bankruptcy. Will this have any effect on the filing?

Thank you for your input!

I would tread carefully adjusting from VWP. Any hitches and there is no appeal. So make sure you have a very perfect case with all your ducks in a row. Do you have a job making enough?

Nope. But if you make enough, then that's what you need for the affidavit of support. There is no place where you list your debt.

Thank you very much for the reply and you make a good point about having a perfect case due to the VWP.

I would assume so, line up a co sponsor.

You assume incorrectly.

The I-864 only cares about income. It doesn't care about bankruptcies, debts, or expenses.

As long as the income is good, negative financial information ha no impact in the I-864.
