My question is if the child is on the 129f form and after the NOa2. Does the fiancé go first to Juarez for the interview or does she take her 2 year old with. In other words are both called at the interview.

Reason being she has not taken her child to get a Mexican passport. And I'm worried she will have to take him. Thanks guys.

Do they both want the visa together? Or will the child follow later? If the child will be a follow-to-join, he doesn't need to be at the interview. If they want the visa at the same time, he needs to attend (and have a passport to put a visa into).

She is a single mom , so she would love to bring him with. I know I would want him here as well. He just went for his Mexican passport so I just wanted to make he was ready once her mom got the interview.

That's why I'm like does she take him? Does the consulate request both or just here. But I did request him on the k1

Does she have to file 2 ds 156. Does she need to take him for a physical at a different date. Any info would greatly help.

From my understanding, the child will need to attend the interview with the mother, if he will be traveling with his mother to the US once the visa(s) have been issued. He will also need to have his medical done atleast 4 days before the interview, it takes longer to process results on children. It is my understanding that the officer will want to see all visa applicants, in person, no matter their age. I may be wrong, but that is the impression that I am under, after months of researching the entire visa process. It would be better that the child be present than not to be, to avoid any delays. Good luck in your journey!

Is the father listed on the birth certificate? Does she have a sole custody court order? If not, she will need a notarized letter from the father giving his permission for the child to travel to and live with his mother in the US.

The child will need a medical, their own forms and to also pay the $240 visa processing fee.

From the form instructions> http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/packetk1may.pdf

NOTE: Applicants ages two (2) years to (14) fourteen years of age must undergo the medical examination at least four (4) work days prior to their scheduled appointment at the Consulate. Failure to do so may result in processing delays or rescheduling of initial appointment. It is also recommended that children within this age range should be immunized at least four (4) weeks prior to their medical examination.
