Hi All

I would like to understand how long it takes for EAD to be issued after biometrics is done. My wife who is on L2 visa has applied for same. Our flow of events is a bit different than others.

On 12th Feb 2013 - applied online for EAD (i765)

13th Feb 2013 - mailed them all the required documents as per their website

28th March 2013 - received biometric appointment letter. But the date of appointment had already passed. it was scheduled for mid March 2013.

(the reason for this was, they had sent the biometric appointment letter to incorrect address, they mentioned only apt 2 instead of apt 2E. The the mail returned to USCIS undelivered. They corrected the address and sent it again but when we received it the biometric appointment date had already passed)

30th March 2013 - we sent request to reschedule it

6th April 2013 - we received Request for Evidence. My wife's signature was missing in the application form

7th Apfil 2013 - we responded to RFE

12th April 2013 - they acknowledged the receipt of our response to RFE (Since then the status on their website for our applicaiton is RFE response Review)

30th May 2013 - we received biometric appointment. Again, the appointment was past dated. The appointment on notice was for 13th May)

31st May 2013 - we directly went to the Support Center and got our biometrics done as walk-in

The online status still shows as RFE response review. I would like to know how long it takes to get EAD issued now.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Usually it would be c 90 days plus the RFE.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Thanks for the reply. So you mean to say I need to wait for another 30 days?

Considering 12th Feb to 12th April (ie till RFE) = 60 days

and 13th April to 13th June = RFE period.

So, in all 90 days - 60 days that I waited earlier (ie from 12th Feb to 12th April) = 30 days?
