I have a Canadian passport, got denied at a port of entry, tried after a few months again and got accepted but I was only in the US for a few days, this time I'm planning to go to the US for a few weeks, and enter at the port of entry where I got denied, what are my chances?

Do you think whether entering from a port of entry where you got denied has any adverse effect? What about staying longer this time for a few weeks?

I'm going to bring the same documents plus more to support my criminal record is cleared and I'm not going to work in the US or immigrant there.

Tried to call US customs and boarder protections at their phone lines, but none of them work!

What do you guys think? Here were the numbers I called that isn't even in service.

It shouldn't matter, why were you denied? You should bring with you ties to Canada and anything to combat your initial denial

good luck

Thank you.

I was denied for criminal record (which they never said anything until the recent year! my guess is policy change/ political reasons), as well as suspected me having intention to work there (my fault for saying something wrong).

Also, have you noticed US border discriminate people who travel by bus more than by car? I'm just trying to find a pattern here.

My assumption is that, US border thinks people who travel by bus are poorer and are more likely to commit crime and try to work/ stay in the US.

Does not matter neither port have any specific impact.

I thought so too.

It was more of the traumatic memory of that specific port of entry that likes to give me a hard time, twice. First time suspects me being a sex worker and was very very rude, second time even worse.

I disagree, I have traveled to the US by bus many times and never had any problems. You are reading into it too much. You have a criminal record and the CBP may have been misinformed regarding the policies surround that. Or perhaps it was your fault for something you said, you mis-spoke perhaps.

I was denied entry at a land bridge by car and have been subjected to secondary inspection at an airport. There is no pattern, there is no use in trying to reason or rationalize. They make up their minds about you in a few minutes based on what you say and how you conduct youself

good luck

I agree with Canadian Wife, each entry is based on it's own merit, unless your criminal record is a major issue. Both my wife and I have been pulled into secondary in the past. My wife was once denied entry for lack of ties to Canada at the Detroit Tunnel, two weeks later she crossed there after being pulled into secondary. But we haven't had any problems in over two years with multiple entries going both ways. If you give them reason to be suspicious, perhaps by saying something that sets them off or acting suspiciously, then they will question you further. Just keep calm, be direct and tell the truth.
