Learner Permit & Name Change on SSN

Hi guys, I posted a similar question beforehand, but now that my situation is becoming more imminent, I am looking if I could get a clearer reply on what I could do.

Here's the situation: I am applying for AOS, just got my EAD and applied for a name change on my SSN card two weeks ago (from my maiden name to my married name). The new Social Security card has not come in yet, and I was told by the SS Office that it might take up to six weeks because they have to verify my status with USCIS before issuing the new card.

I am having my first job interview on Friday. It is for a job that I would definitely need a Driver's License for in order to get to work and back. Does anyone know if I can apply for a Learner Permit (I am a first-time driver) when:

1) my passport is in my maiden name

2) my EAD is in my married name

3) my Social Security Card is STILL in my maiden name (since the new card hasn't come in yet).

I have read on here that people (from different states) were turned away because the DMV said that the names on the SS Card and on the immigration documents (EAD) have to match. Does aynone know FOR SURE whether this is true or not?

I am in Oklahoma btw. All I could find was this information: http://www.dps.state.ok.us/dls/apply/dl_namechange.html My husband tried to call the Oklahoma DMV, but they don't answer.

I don't think the DMV needs to see your EAD, so it doesn't matter if there's your new name on it.

All you need to show them is your passport and tell them your SSN. No need to show the actual Social Security Card.

If there should be any issues it can't hurt to bring your marriage license to prove the name change.

for anyone else who stumbles upon this topic the last posters advise wasn't correct, before going to DMV you need to ensure your SS is in married name or you wont get anywhere at DMV as they check on their computer system to check for a match! And if when you go to Social sec office they cant confirm your employment authorization status from ur work permit card number you get put in a frustrating holding pattern which can take up to 4 weeks.
