Thanks! What's happening with your application? I see you've been in-line since 9/3, almost a month now...

Nothing at the moment. LOL! Atlanta feild office is very busy because it services both Georgia and Alabama. I think I'll be waiting a few more weeks to get an interview letter. I hope it's soon though...keeping my fingers crossed. I'll definately update my timeline when I get it. Thanks for asking! smile.png

A decision cannot yet be made about your application.

:(

I passed the test, but the officer said I traveled a lot to Brazil... She has to check the law and then make a decision... I stayed in Brazil less then 18 months total (15 if I'm correct)...

Now I have to wait a denial letter or an oath letter...

:(

I'm sorry to hear you didn't get your approval on the spot. Did you apply under the 3 or 5 year rule? And did you stay out for more than 6 months at any time? Based on either one you should be alright if you didn't stay more than 6 months for any single trip. Maybe she just wants to double check your dates to make sure everything is correct.

I kind of feel like this is going to be me as well. My IO was kind flustered it seems. I just remembered he actually omit the first number in my alien number when he was filling out some of the papers, and when I asked him about it, he told me it doesn't matter. ranting33va.gif

Luxus has already received an email about scheduled for oath and I passed my interview a week before him, and nothing yet. Hope you receive something soon. Did they offer you same day oath? I thought they usually schedule the oath within 45 days from recommended approval?

I applied under the 3 years. My longest trip: 5 months.

According to what she said, it doesn't matter if you travel for 5 months and return to the USA, then 3 months later you travel again to Brazil for 2 months (my case).

Well, according to the uscis website, applying under marriage you have to stay in the USA for at least 18 months and no single trips over 6 months. I made sure I followed their rules, but nothing else I can do... :(

Ok. I don't get what the IO means. Is she interpreting it as you can't stay out of the US for more than 6 months a year? That's not what the eligability instructions say. It says you must be in for 18 months and no trip longer than 6 months. So when she checks it out you should be ok. Everything will work out fine for you. Stay positive!

She kept saying that she had to check "the law", but apparently she was interpreting that you cannot stay outside the country for over 6 months per year. I got really frustrated because I thought I was doing everything right.

I hope they don't take ages to decide it :(

Thanks for the positive words!!
