So my fiancé has his interview scheduled for June 28th. There is a hold up with his passport it won't be ready till like June 24th.

My question is: will they allow him to take the medical without the passport? Or will they allow him to take the medical 4 days before the interview to assure he had his passport?

Cutting it close. I don't see a reason why they won't allow him to have the medical right before the interview. But every consulate is different, somebody from Jamaica will chime in with further expertise.

I would e-mail the embassy and ask this question. At the medical, they conduct labwork, and they need time to process them, and write their report. Your approval will be on hold until medical is completed. Also, they may reschedule your interview.

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process forum to Embassy/Consulate forum -- OP is describing a consular process. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Yes he must have his passport for the medical interview with the letter from the embassy, 3 passport pictures, completed history form and immunization card.Just a few hints,I am certain he will need his passport to get his police certificate and there will be an increase commencing June 3rd he must also paid the cost of the police certificate a the tax office and take his passport with the receipt to the location where the police certificate will be done. I did my police record today and it was a smooth process and its better to go to the office in the morning than late, the medical result takes 10 working days to process, this is what i was told by the nurse that work at one of the office where the medical is to be done. So i would advise you to reschedule the interview date because getting his papers together will take himsome time. good luck

I should futher state that at the Medical associate hospital the cost for the medical is a little more expensive than at Andrews Memorial hospital and they did not mention that i need the passport there only four pictures, application letter and immunization card but at the Medical Associate they required three passport size pictures letter from the embassy medical history form and immunization card. At the Andrews memorial they have large amount of people to get medical done. I have been calling from time to time and this information i've known since checking with them but today I finally hear it again and it was confirmed. I know that one is more expensive than the other and i have my appointment set for the earliest possible date I could get at the Medical Associate Hospital Because Andrews Memorial is already full with appointment and the date I would get for my medical appointment my medical would not be ready for my interview in late June

Andrews I understand is a bit better/cheaper

but wait time is the same at both...at medical

Assoc (this is rumor ok)Its said they try to give

U more shots even when U sometimes have the shot

card already

I was just doing some research on the difference in sending my fiance to one place as opposed to the other. It does seem like getting it done at Andrews as opposed to a smaller place like Med Assoc would be beneficial. Its' a hospital so I'm sure they would not be in it for financial gain (xtra shots) and two would maybe be less strict about the whole process. A rasta mi a send so lord knows he needs to get someone not partial. I know how some of the people dem see rasta. mad.gif
