I responded to my RFE and received notice they received my response on May 15th. On their website it says I should hear a response within 60 days. However, I have already been waiting 7.5 months. I called USCIS initially upon receiving the RFE and they said there shouldn't be much of a delay beyond receiving the RFE back from me.

Does anyone have any experience on how long it typically takes them to respond? Am I really looking at an additional 60 days or do they just say that so people are not bothering them? Any feedback on other peoples response times or insight into the process would be greatly appreciated.

60 days since they received your RFE reply.

from my experience usually it takes about 10days and get my NOA2 approval, samething w/my husband AOS-RFE it only takes 10days to get their answer.

i have a feeling you might have your NOA2 before the end of this week or early nxt wk due to holiday delay.

The longer it takes to happen the more you'll appreciate it when it does!

They got my RFE reply on April 17, 2013 and until now, no signs of Noa2, it's been 1 month and 2 weeks already. VSC here on a K1 visa.

09/27/12- Sent I-129F via UPS10/01/12- 129-F packet arrived in Texas10/03/12- NOA 1 routed to VCS10/09/12 Received hard copy of NOA 104/09/13 Received Rfe04/17/13 Replied to rfe07/16/13 NOA208/15/13 Manila Embassy Interview<p>Met in Memphis, TN

10/17/13- Sent AOS,EAD,AP

10/21/13- Noa1 (EAD and AP)

10/23/13- Noa1 (Green card)

11/19/13- Biometrics Appointment

12/1413- EAD and AP approved (card in production)

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Response time varies, some folks get approved in a few days, others have waited weeks. Unfortunately, there is no consistency. The 60 day response just gives them time to not have to explain why they are taking so long. You can read other threads on RFE response times, or go to Igor's list and check approved I129Fs to see how long others waited for their RFE. Hope you are one of the lucky ones and gets your RFE soon, the wait can be a bit stressful, so close yet so far. Good luck!
