My wife is the USC, she just relocated back to US after about 27 yrs in Nigeria. She is presently heavy with our first baby in which her EDD is any time from now. We have a family friend (Medical Doctor) who has offered to be a sponsor.

My wife(petitioner) aint working presently but would pick up some job afterwards, my question is:

  • would she also need to be stated as a sponsor?
  • That she aint working now makes her eligible to sponsor me or not?
  • Does she need to fill I-864 as the primary sponsor while our family becomes the Only joint sponsor?

Thanks

- Yes, she'd be primary sponsor even if she makes no money.

- She can petition you, but you'd need the doctor friend as joint sponsor.

- Yes
