Hi,

This is my first time posting. I am preparing my papers to adjust my status and I have to get the medical examination as required on form I-693.

On Friday I went to see a doctor and I had blood drawn, a Tetanus shot, and the TB test where they inject something under your skin and after 48 - 72 hours check whether there is a reaction (swelling) to that injection.

Now, on Friday I came home and realized that I cannot go back to the doctor within 48 - 72 hours because Sunday and Monday (Memorial Day) the doctor's office is closed. I called the doctor and he said that that would be no problem, he would read the result simply on Tuesday (which would be more than 72 hours after the test was applied).

Is that correct? Will my I-693 be accepted when I submit it if the reading of the TB test was more than 72 hours after the application?

IF "NO": I would go to a different doctor and have the TB test done and my I-693 filled out there. Can I redo the test (with another doctor)? Can two TB tests be applied one after the other and the results are still accepted?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Most of the CS doctors know the rules, and ours was similar with him also reading the x-ray. i had my wife on my medical at the time so BSBC paid for most of the medical stuff minus the government paperwork.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Thank you for the response. It is a little unclear, though. My questions were--in summary--is the result still valid if the doctor reads it after 72 hours? and if not, can I go to a different doctor right away?

The results are still valid. The doctor knows she s/he is doing.

We understood your question the first time.

Oh, sure, I was not intending that my question was not understood the first time. I was just saying that bigdog's answer was confusing and give her/him a chance to clarify. Thank you for your answer, Harpa Timsah.
