U.S. legislator warns of Bush plot to merge Canada, the U.S. and Mexico

Colorado Republican Tom Tancredo, revered by some U.S. conservatives for his efforts to staunch the flow of illegal immigrants from Mexico, said this week that Bush is a dangerous internationalist.

"He is going to do what he can to create a place where the idea of America is just that, it's an idea. It's not an actual place defined by borders. I mean this is where the guy is really going," he told WorldNetDaily, a controversial conservative website.

"I know this is dramatic, or maybe somebody would say overly dramatic. But I'm telling you that everything I see leads me to believe that this whole idea of the North American union, it's not something that's just written about by right-wing fringe kooks," said Tancredo, who is considering a run at the presidency.

"It is something in the head of the president of the United States, the president of Mexico, I think the prime minister of Canada buys into it . . ."

And he's supposed to get this done before he's out of office??

I think what Tancredo is saying is that Bush will do all he can to further the cause of North American integration while in office. For example by granting legal status to illegals from Mexico (and elsewhere, but mostly Mexico). I don't think he's saying Bush will achieve the final goal during his Presidency. I could be wrong.

Yes possibly. Then he will be able to become the feared dictator who turns the US in the a complete police state like so many people thought would seriously happen(bahaha) in his limited time left in office. :P

This is nothing new, nor is it something that only Tancredo has noticed. TX Rep. Ron Paul is another Republican that has throw up the alarm to Bush's nefarious ways. There are many (including myself) that see nothing good coming out of this union except for the usual elites that benefit from this type of stealth agenda. Oligarchies are wonderful as long as you are an oligarch. For everyone else it sucks.

Is it any surprise that Bush has done more to actively block any attempt to crack down on illegal immigration or the crooks that employ them or to secure the border? This just ratchets it up to another level. Get the infrastructure in place by hook or crook and then do the slam dunk when it is too late to stop it.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

I've heard about this "North American Union" thing before. Supposedly, the new currency would be something called the "Amero" if you can believe it.

I seriously doubt such a concept will ever become a reality. First of all, Americans (in general) dislike the idea of giving up some of their sovreignty (and compromisng the Constitution and the Bill of Rights) in order to merge with other nations. Second, Bush wouldn't have been able to get this passed when his own party controlled Congress -- what makes him think he can work this out with the opposing party? Third, who says Canada and Mexico want this?

I don't mind merging with Canada. Mexico is too poor to merge though, maybe in 20 years.

I don't mind merging with Canada either. In fact, I'd like it. I think Canada is a really nice country, and it'd make things a whole lot easier for my fiancee and me.

I just don't think the average American feels the same way about it.

Oh Boy,

Canadians would fight that tooth and nail. Can't see this happening anytime in the near or not so near futire.

NAFTA was just the "foot in the door"; "give them an inch and they'll take a mile" beginning.

Do you really think that most Americans want to be invaded by millions of illegal aliens from Mexico? Do you really think a vast majority of Americans agree with having Spanish jammed down our throats by our government? Do you really think most Americans approve of the huge trade deficits and outsourcing of good American jobs?

Do you see the many US communities nationwide that are passing local ordinances proclaiming English as the official and only local government language? And at the same time passing ordinances to drive illegal aliens away from their communities. Outsource jobs and at the same time import illegal aliens to do jobs that can't be outsourced.

The oligarchs in the White House and Senate do what will benefit themselves and their elitist backers.

I don't know anything about Canadian government, but in the USA we have come to a point where we must decide whether we are a democracy or an oligarchy. The legislation coming out of the US Senate and the policies of the White House are not in the best interests of the vast majority of Americans.

The point of trade agreements and immigration should be to serve the needs of the nation...not oligarchs.

Where is Teddy Roosevelt when you need him?

Mexico? Yes, because as I get older I find myself letting out to laborers those jobs that are too strenuous for me....

Canada? I'll pass on Canada.....They're comfortable living in our shadow. A merger would merely put a drag on us. We'd need them to take on some real responsibilty, and like the French, they'll resist tooth and nail. It's just easier for them to let someone else do the dirty jobs but reap the benefits......:lol:

What's wrong with hiring Americans and paying a living wage?

Why should the taxpayer pay for the social costs of your cheap illegal day laborers?

Who said they're "illegal"? Perhaps you need to read the topic of this thread?

In this twisted fantasy, whereby President Bush.....oh what's the point?

Yes, if we annex Mexico then they'll still be "illegal", eh?

Pay attention, they'll be a test later...
