Im gonna use my sister as a co sponsor, first question is, is the I-864A still the same old form for the Co Sponsor? and second question, on the I-864 am i filling out block 1a.? or am i filling out 1e. and checking the box that says "first"? You can only have one selection, i assumed i would check block 1a but im just playing it safe til i know for sure. Keeping in mind that i do have a co sponsor. Any help would be appreciated Thank you in advance

Genesis 2:22-24
Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man." For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

Ok i just went through this, sent it all in a week ago, haven't heard anything from NVC yet soo hopefully someone who's more experienced can chime in...

You will choose 1a because you are the petitioner. 1e is if you have more then one sponsor. If only your sister is going to be your sponsor then she will choose 1d.

If your sister isn't claiming you on her tax info as a dependent or vice versa and both of ya'll have different addresses, then she doesn't do 864a and should do 864 only.

Once again let me state i dont know what i'm talking about, but i do know what i'm talking about.huh.png

vj terminology to know

NOA = notice of action :P

ISO = immigration service officer

NBC = (same as MSC)national benefits center

RFE = request for evidence

She should file I-864, NOT I-864A; just because you live at the same address does not mean you are financially dependant on eachother, which is what I-864A implies.

You do NOT check 1e, you check 1a. You and your sister, both of ya'll, will fill out a I-864.

No one will do a I-864A, unless your sister is married

and does her taxes jointly with her husband

and they live in the same address

and your sister wants to use his income on her I-864, in that case your sisters husband will fill out I-864A.
