I want to hear about the experience of USC that have been able to be interviewed together with their Spouse In Lagos. For those who weren't allowed what attempts were made, etc

Thanks.

The delay between USCIS and NVC may be a blessing of sorts since it may allow my USC BestMan/SIbling to be in Lagos with us during the interview. Could Wifey tell CO that he is outside? Would that matter?

Usually the USC sits outside under the tree with the woman that rents the chairs. You give your passport or at least a copy to your spouse and your spouse can make sure to mention that you are waiting outside. If they wish to question them they will send a guard to get you. Usually they don't .

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

At Lagos I have only seen Petitioner invited in after a denial and when they are invited and a stokes is done. Its very very rare. And the one after the denial marched in their and got CO to change denied to approve.

But to come during interview . Nope won't happen. Having your sibling there has no bearing on the interview or situation. So that wouldn't even matter to say "brother in law is outside".

Was she nervous the first time just have her be natural and calm if she is more comfortable speaking other than English she should tell them. I saw that alot at embassy where the CO's (us Americans u know) spoke in a way that confused some. So they had the guard come over and translate and that helped alot.

The USC is not allowed in the interviews. All the friends that I know of were waiting outside for their husbands, wives, and fiances. they did give their spouse their passports to take in as proof of presence at the time of the interview. The so called stokes interviews are different. A friend had one and it was conducted by Nigerians and it was grueling experience. Both husband and wife were separated into two separate rooms and asked a lot of questions at the same time. It was a terrible experience.

You could take the entire family with you and it would not matter to the CO if they are outside. Yet, having the spouse does wonders. Also, if things don't go well the USC can then go in and make an inquiry or maybe even make a difference in the decision made.

As a US Citizen you can ask to be let into the Embassy. That is your right! It is not allowed for you to be in the room while the interview takes place. You can request to have an appointment, or to go into the Embassy to speak to them.

At the gate, you tell the guards that you are a USC and would like to go in and they will let you in. Make sure you have your passport with you.

If your husband was denied and you are there, then you just ask the guards and they will. Sometimes you have to wait outside until they call you in.
