Hi Guys,

I am ready to send DS 230 along with Civil Documents.

Before I proceed, could you all please tell me what are the things I should be taking care to avoid getting the checklist (which will delay the process)?

I went here : http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html

Collected all the documents above, and not forgetting to attach the Cover Sheet of Paid fees of IV.

Anything else?

Also after explaining above, if you guys could tell me what would be next? :)

Why is Police Certificate not available?

A lady from NVC said that Police Certificate is not required for NVC for Mumbai Consulate, you can directly take it to the Visa Interview.

Am I doing the right thing?

Well, ok. You need to tell us details and information like that ...so others can advise accordingly. Just making sure.

Don't forget, of course, your DS-230 Part I (signed) and Part II (unsigned) -ensure that your residency records are in order starting from the age of 16. Go through the DS-230 again, preferably with someone so that you don't miss out details required.

Good luck!

Thanks Bro, I was just confused because only once a lady from NVC told me that, we have called multiple times and nobody mentioned anything like that. The lady was brilliant.

Actually I myself was/am confused about it. I am still confused but I am not going to waste anymore time, I am just going to send it now.

In India, to get PCC, we need to have a letter from either NVC or US Consulate (as from what I have heard) so if they will need it, they will ask for it through the letter which I will show to Passport guys and then they can give me.

I am still confused between the difference of Passport Clearance Certificate & Police Clearance Certificate tough.

Thats good. Actually i was also confused regarding PCC, whether i should send PCC to NVC or not. but then i went to an Visa Agent who told me that In Gujarat, passport office is not issuing PCC without showing PCC CHECKLIST from NVC.

so at that time i get relaxed and i sent in my IV package without PCC. To confirm by myself, i sent an Email asking about PCC, within only 4 hours of sending Email, i got a reply saying that PCC is not required for NVC to complete the case, bring it at interview directly.

quick question on check off sheet. You state you have marriage certificate. I take it that you are married to spouse in USA. If you are filing under K1, can not be married.
