Hey guys,

I've been reading links and topics about what to do at the NVC stage.

I am trying to do this as quickly as possible. But I have a couple questions..

1. To obtain the police record, in my husband's country, it states it wants an official request. Therefore, he can't do anything, until I send him a copy of the requested police certificate to show them?

3. Does emailing the NVC about me being my spouse's agent still really work, or is mailing it better?? (I only ask b/c those posts were a few years back..)

4. Will the NVC require proof of relationship / marriage too, like the USCIS??

I am going to call the NVC to see if they received my case yet and will continue to call..

Any other tips to do RIGHT NOW? Since I just got approved yesterday?

Thank you!!!!!

1. If his country requires an official request, you'll have to send the IV package without the PCC. You'll then receive a checklist, requesting the PCC. He can then use that to obtain it.

2. Yes, emailing the DS-3032 still works (and is recommended as it's faster/cheaper).

3. No, proof of marriage isn't required, although some people in harder countries send additional evidence with the IV package.

I suggest you check out this link as it's full of guides and a FAQ about the NVC process: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/427843-nvc-filers-may-2013/

Okay thank you!!! I will check it out right now.

By the way, can I email that I am his agent, using his email? He doesn't have a comp., and will be so confused if I explain it. So, I made him an email. Would there be any way to know I was the one sending the email though?

Yup, a lot of petitioners email the DS-3032 on behalf of the beneficiary. You did give both of the email addresses to an operator, right? I wouldn't suggest sending the DS-3032 until they have both email addresses on file.

Yes, they can know it was the petitioner by tracking the IP address (which would show a US-based IP, instead of one in Costa Rica. But I highly doubt they check the IP addresses of incoming mail.

I'm actually on hold right now, lol but I will give the addresses.

sad.png it sucks I have to wait for the checklist to get the PCC.. How much more time would that waste? :/

[sorry for all the questions!]

[edit: Operator said my case is not in their system yet (I figured it was too soon but wanted to try anyway, lol]

Your case won't be in the NVC system for at least 2 weeks if you were just approved yesterday. It depends on how good your field office is at sending out the cases to the NVC.

Katherinn,

I received my NOA2 last Thursday (4/25). I called NVC yesterday and they said my case wasnt there yet. I called today and they said my case arrived yesterday but a case number hadnt yet been assigned. You and I are in pretty much the same place right now. Good luck!
