Did urban voter fraud give Obama the White House?

I doubt you would get Democrats to give up the gerrymandering.

Both sides may do it, but seeing as house Republicans managed to secure 55% of the House, while garnering less than 50% of the vote, one wonders which side has more to lose from giving up gerrymandering?

Confounding conventional wisdom, partisan redistricting is not symmetrical between the political parties. By my seat-discrepancy criterion, 10 states are out of whack: the five I have mentioned, plus Virginia, Ohio, Florida, Illinois and Texas. Arizona was redistricted by an independent commission, Texas was a combination of Republican and federal court efforts, and Illinois was controlled by Democrats. Republicans designed the other seven maps. Both sides may do it, but one side does it more often.

Funny how the NYT didn't notice the two most populous states are heavily gerrymandered to the Democrats. Texas just recently wrenched control away from the Democrats. Why do you think the Libs were putting out contracts on Tom "The Hammer" DeLay?

Clearly then, the Democrats aren't that good at gerrymandering, or they'd have won a larger percentage of the house than they did,

Ebbs and tides. Politics is that way. Democrats recent mistake was creating too many "safe" seats. When you do that, then you necessarily have to give up on numbers. Gerrymandering is not all about getting the most members of your party elected, it is also about seniority and keeping your phony-baloney job.

Right now would be a good chance to get them to do so. Have Republicans propose it. Right now. But they won't because they know that the national demographics are stacked heavily against them.

It really is a state's issue, and several states are moving to non-partisan commissions to establish the district boundaries. In the 2020 election, or soon thereafter, we will see if that makes a difference. The voting rights act already prevents most of the red states from redistricting without Federal judicial review, so a good chunk of that whining by Democrats is moot on it's face.
