Concern over lack of approvals for China

I have a NOA1 date of Oct. 22nd and with all of the recent approvals, checked the status of those who fall into the similar category and noticed that none were approved. I dug a little deeper, going back to August 1st, and found a total of 15 results which were similar to mine (China, Guangzhou, Aug. 1 through Oct. 31) and out of those 15, only one has been approved. Is this typical for China to have more scrutiny or longer wait times than other countries? I contacted my congressman a few weeks ago and he wrote me back saying that he wrote a letter and sent it to the CSC asking for my petition to be expedited (I'm a Gulf War Vet which I did mention and probably why I got the expedite) but have not heard anything and seen no touches on my petition as of yet. Just wondering if anyone else here has had any experience with Chinese visas or not.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I never asked for an expedite, I only wrote him because of my concern over no petitions being processed since late July.

All the k-1's are slow, good luck with your expedite. You might look at the USCIS expedite criteria, just becaused he asked does not mean they will do it..

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Agree.

The recent virtual shutdown of adjudications of ALL visa applications/petitions at the USCIS service centers is more likely due to the deluge of nearly 500,000 DACA applications since last August. :o

This resulted in massive shifting of adjudication and review of duties for the various service centers. The net effect being longer processing times and more delays with fewer petition approvals at USCIS, so fewer files are sent on the Department of State for further processing/interviews; fewer AOS applications being approved, so fewer Green Cards (GC) are received; fewer ROC applications approved, so fewer 10-year GCs are received, etc.

Here is the USCIS expedite criteria:

Good luck.

Apologies, when the casefile is at USCIS, country-to-interview-in makes no difference for queue what so ever.

However, you are suffering from the 'DACA-priority' at CSC, alas. You and thousands of others. I wish there was a better answer, but there's not.

I guess when your congress person tells you that they are just trying to make it look like they are doing something, haha. Might get a vote or two from it. ;)

Being a veteran won't get you an expedite, heading into harms way will though.

BTW... Thank you for your service!
