So, I am currently waiting for the NOA1 to arrive from the Texas Lockbox for our K1Visa petition. I have seen tons of posts about California and Vermont. Which is really the better one to have your application sent to? I know that there's no way to know for sure where it'll go until I get the NOA1.

where your petition is sent depends on the state you live in, and what centre that state is assigned to.

at the moment it'd be better to have your file sitting at vermont, as their processing is going much faster, but in the past california has been known for its fast pace.

the centres appear to go in cycles. one fact for sure is that the backlog at csc is of historic proportion and if this pace continues having it sent there now might cause long waits also for people who filed now, not just applicants from last summer and autumn.

only hope is for csc to speed up and for vsc to at least stay at the sort of fast same pace.

Thanks. I wasn't sure how that worked but my assumption is that I'd go to Vermont but I could be wrong. In the past, I had heard the CSC was faster but lately, I noticed it was very slow. I'll just pray to go to Vermont! These wait times are ridiculous and punish all immigrants who are trying to do things the right way. :(

Fill out your timeline once you receive your NOA1. It will give you estimated processing time.

Good luck to you! :-)
