I called my Senator's office and spoke with his Immigration representative about a week ago. I got shut down on the phone. She told me CSC was processing I-129Fs at an acceptable pace. I did not have my facts in front me. I wrote a three page letter today and faxed it to her with the privacy release and my NOA1.

Here is what I said: 1.) CSC is at lowest I-129F output in at least last two years. I cited figures from USCIS dashboard. 381 completions in January v. 1445 petitions. I created a table covering Oct through Jan. Dec and Jan output is the lowest in last 2 years. I told her my immigration lawyer says slowest in last 5 years. 2.) Fairness. I told her I was not asking that my petition be placed ahead of others. But, it is also not fair for the CSC to priortize other petitions ahead of ours and that everybody has a right to request political assistance.

I tried to be concise.

We'll see. She was very unsympathetic when I called. At least I showed her with facts that they are bogging. I pointed out that they are created a 1000 per month backlog.

Sorry to hear that! Yesterday I sent my representative an email referencing http://tinyurl.com/cscdata which has all the data on processing times. My rep himself emailed me back within the hour and expressed his concern and offered to help. He also hooked me up with his immigration staffer who emailed me the next morning (today) and promised to pursue the issue. I will keep everyone informed as to what I hear.

a 3 page letter is not concise. Sounds more boring and waste of time.

All the congressmen need to know is if you have a voters registration card and that you want a congressional inquiry because you cannot get information.

They do not care about you or being apart. They care about your vote. Are you registered to vote?

Your NOA1 was in January, it's barely April, are you concerned with your application going beyond the 5.5 month processing time they stated when you filed? Folks here from July still waiting. I guess a good idea to get a head start now tho.

I did not write because of the time we have waited but instead to support the people who have waited a long time. I am a bit of a Democratic activist so this sort of thing comes naturally :-). Plus I know my Congressman well enough to have a direct email address for him so I figured that this would be a good time to use it (I try to reserve it for only important issues and contact his office like everyone else for small things).

I specifically stated in my email that I was not requesting help for us at this time. However if applications are processed in chronological order it would follow that the more behind processing is now the longer it will take to get to our application. We would really like to get the whole thing done by the end of August so my fiancee's son can start school in September and I figured that the only way that will happen is if the CSC starts addressing the backlog now. If we're still waiting at the end of July I will ask about our case personally but for now I am content to sit and wait. But if I can help everyone else by using my contacts I am more than happy too.
