On March 29th, a solidarity walk took place through the South Hebron Hills. The walk brought together artists, activists, community leaders and students from Palestine and abroad. Participants attempted to walk through Mufaqara, Tuba, a-Sf...ay, Maghayir al-Abeed and al-Fakhit - 5 of 8 communities facing forced eviction within the "918 Firing Zone" – an area of the South Hebron Hills used by the Israeli Forces for military training. 1000 people living in this region have been issued with eviction orders. All homes in these villages are faced with demolition. Each person is faced with forced expulsion from ancestral lands.

During the walk, Luke Nephew, peace poet, hip hop artist and participant in the March Freedom Ride was detained by Israeli Forces. He was later taken to the police station in Kiryat Arba where he was informed that he would placed under house arrest and then deported.

Luke's arrest followed the attempted arrest of Abu Mosa and other leaders of the popular struggle movement in the South Hebron Hills.

The Israeli Forces attempted to stop the walk altogether, and attacked and injured several participants. One international had her leg twisted and others were hit in the head with rifle butts.

Israel's practice of attacking, detaining and deporting international activists is part of their effort to prevent global scrutiny of the apartheid structures that violate international humanitarian law throughout historic Palestine.

The South Hebron Hills Solidarity Walk was organized by the South Hebron Hills Popular Struggle Committee and The Freedom Theatre's Freedom Bus. The walk ended the 13-day March Freedom Ride.

This Occupation has been going on way too long. I canot believe that this is still happening today. How can Israelis not look at what their government does to the Palestinians and see the similarities to what was done to them by Adolf Hitler? I'm also not condoning the horrible actions that have been done by Palestinians, but I really can't believe that Israel can treat other human beings like they do Palestinians after what Hitler did to them.. I wish Walter Cronkite could have brokered a resolution to this occupation as he did with the peace deal between Egypt and Israel. Politicians sure don't seem to want to resolve this, and the UN is disregarded and dismissed by Israel time and time again.. It's just time for this hatred to end..

The UN is disregarded and dismissed by pretty much every country in the world unless the UN is saying what that country wants to hear.

The State of Israel has been illegally occupying territories which are outside the State of Israel for more than 60 years, murdering, oppressing and dispossessing non-Jewish residents for one simple reason: because they are not Jews.

Israel has encouraged, funded and provided military protection to its civilians as they illegally squat in this illegally-occupied territory outside the state of Israel, even reputedly “selling” them non-Israeli territory. These atrocities began decades before there were every any Palestinian suicide bombings or rockets from Gaza, and they continue to this day.

Although the Zionists were very pleased with the UN support of a Jewish state in Palestine, and agreed to abide by the UN Charter and conventions as a condition of its admission to the UN, the State of Israel routinely ignores UN resolutions - including Security Council resolutions, which clearly state its obligations under international law and conventions, as well as the UN Charter.

It's sickeningly ironic that in order to justify the murder, dispossession and oppression of non-Jews, the State of Israel tries at every turn to undermine and circumvent the very laws, charter and conventions which were adopted in large part because of what happened to Jews under the Nazis, and because the world agreed: these sorts of atrocities should not ever happen again.

Let's do the math:

4 Million + Jews killed in WW2

4000 + Palestinians killed by Israelis

No real comparison. Not that Israel gets a pass on their bad behavior.

Claiming "4000+ Palestinians killed by Israelis" is about as deliberately deceptive as someone trying to get away with saying "400,000+ Jews killed in the Holocaust."

In fact, close to 5000 Palestinians were killed by Israel in just the 7-and-a-half year period from 2000-2008:

29 September 2000 to 31 March 2008

Palestinians killed by Israeli security forces 4,675

Palestinians killed by Israeli civilians 44

Source: B'Tselem (Israeli Information Centre for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories)

And what about before September 29, 2000, and what about after March 31, 2008 ? What about the Nakba, the Naksa, or how about Cast Lead - which all occurred outside this time period ? What about the expulsion of 80% of the Palestinian population from their homes in what is now Israel ?

Wikipedia, and even the Jewish Virtual Library admit an estimate of more than 90,000 Palestinians killed between 1920 and 2012.

And changing the name of the terrorists from the Irgun and the Haganah to the Israeli Defense Forces to try to reset the counter does not change who was responsible.

Clinging to a victimhood that Palestinians had nothing to do with, in order to minimize the horror that Zionists/Israelis inflicted on the Palestinians, is one more symptom of the dangerous mental illness of Zionism.

You don't see any other comparisons??

I was going to list several other comparisons, but I decided to simply ask you a question.. How would you like living as the Palestinians are FORCED by Israel to live?

Recent interrogation of a British photographer arriving in Tel Aviv:

“Do you know any Arabs in London?” “Have you ever listened to Arab music”

http://mondoweiss.net/2013/03/authorities-british-photojournalist.html

Not too far from "Do you know any Jews in Berlin ?" "Have you ever read any Jewish publications ?" etc. etc.

Zionists are willing to do all sorts of disgusting things to try to make the land and the archaeological record fit their fairy tales. See how the IDF tried to erase traces of non-Jewish history in Palestine and what is now Israel:

History Erased

During the 1950s, the nascent state and IDF set about destroying historical sites left behind by other cultures, particularly Muslims. This policy was so indiscriminate that even synagogues were destroyed.

Read again and see that the comparison was indeed made.

I find it fascinating Wife spotted the time frame for the Palestinian casualties but we gets to her 5000 + number by including the roughly 500 Palestinians killed by fellow Palestinians.

I don't disagree Palestinians have reasons to complain.

It looks all so familiar... because oppressed people who dare to protest for their rights are an intolerable threat to their oppressors.

Um... huh ? You exhort people to "do the math," and yet you can't do a simple arithmetic equation. Here, I will do it for you:

4,675 + 44 = 4719 Palestinians killed by Israelis. That equals "close to 5000" - and that was during just the 7.5 year period.

You're welcome.

As I look at these photos you posted, I'm reminded that Israel's oppression of Palestine was going on when these photos were taken and was going on even when South Africa ridded itself of oppression. Funny that in all of the world today, as our leaders in governments around the world talk of all of the wonderful advances we have made in the world and how we as a society have embraced womens rights, civil rights, gay rights as well as witnessing democracy in Egypt, the fall of the Berlin wall, the end of communism in Russia, that the Palestinian people still live under the illegal occupation by the state of Israel. As I've said before.. This madness needs to STOP!
