I am sure this has been posted somewhere before but I have been unable to locate.

My NOA2 was approved out of Vermont Service Center on Feb 25, 2013 and has yet to reach the NVC. I have sent in a pdf of the NOA2 to NVCresearch@state.gov over a week ago and I have now surpassed 30 days from approval and still nothing. Any suggestions from anyone? I thought things would start moving forward finally after the initial approval. I have a sick feeling that this is going to take forever to locate my file from Vermont.

Well you can come to the NVC filers thread and ask this. There are many like you waiting more than a month some almost 2 and haven't arrived yet to NVC. Also be sure to read the #1 and #2 post full of information you will need to get through NVC.

Now to the issue at hand what does USCIS say when you call them? If you haven't yet you need to speak to a tier 2 supervisor and specifically ask these words "when did my file physically leave the service center".

Thank you for your reply. I thought I was on the right forum, apparently not. Ugh!

I haven't spoken to a Tier 2 supervisor yet. So far, all I have been told is that NVC connects with Immigration to locate the file.

I will check out the other forum but 2 months waiting worries me.

I faced the same situation. My NOA2 was approved on January 24th and it took two months to reach NVC. We got an email and documents from NVC on March 22nd. After 30 days, we started contacted NVC and the California Service Center. It took us two weeks to learn that my petition had been sent to a specific field office and that that office was retaining my file after approval by the USCIS. Why? no clue. At that point, my husband was able to schedule a meeting at the field office. By chance, or because of our phone calls and emails (who knows), the NVC contacted us before the meeting.

All this to let you know that such delay can happen. I would encourage you to try to contact USCIS and NVC as many times as needed. This process is so long and create so much stress. Best of luck to you.
