Hi All,

I'm wondering typically how long it takes for processing at the NBC. I filed for the I-130 for my husband and it has been about two months now. It still is under initial review.

I'm a US citizen, but i'm currently working abroad in India where I married my husband last year. We are now expecting and I'm wondering if there is any thing we can do besides wait..My employment visa expires in June and I would like my husband to come with me back to states.

Any suggestions?

All you can do is wait. CR-1 visas take the bulk of a year at the moment. If you petitioned two months ago (mid January), then it is extremely unlikelt he'll have the visa by June.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Like penguin said, there's nothing you can do, unfortunately. I filed my I-130 in July 2012 and will be lucky to get my husband home by June 2013. While it's not impossible, it is VERY unlikely your husband will get his visa in the time frame you're asking about. The NOA2 itself can take 6 - 9 months, and after that you'll still have to go through NVC (currently taking 2 - 3 months), and then wait for an appointment at your embassy (another 2 months on average). So even if his visa was approved today, you still would have another 4 - 5 months of waiting, meaning you'd be lucky to get it by August.

Just to clarify... oohpartiv said "visa" but it is only the petition being approved at this stage. The visa application comes next. There are many members (as mentioned above) still waiting for their NOA2 to come which is the approval of the petition. Then it is on to the NVC stage and interview.
